There is no question that New York State government needs a shake-up.  That is why I have a number of proposals that will restore accountability to New York State government.  My plans will:

Call for a Constitutional Convention
I have co-sponsored legislation in the New York State Senate that will call for the convening of a Constitutional Convention.  Only through this convention can we truly get to the root of the problems facing our State and make the structural changes needed to create a place where people will want to live, work, and raise their families.

Establish an Independent Ethics Commission
Unfortunately, Albany has shown that it cannot police itself.  We need an independent body with teeth and true oversight abilities to fully and comprehensively address any and all ethics inquiries.

Create an Open and Transparent Budget Process
For too long the people of New York have been left out of the budget process.  I will fight to ensure that there is full public disclosure of the New York State budget.
