Initiative and Referendum
There is no greater way to empower the people of New York State than to give them a direct say in matters that impact their daily lives.

That is why I have authored legislation that would give voters the power of Initiative and Referendum so that you can have a voice in how New York State is governed and have a say in the decisions that affect all of New York State.

Initiative and Referendum is the only way to ensure true accountability in Albany and allow your voice to be heard.

The 51st State
For too long, Upstate New York has taken a back seat to downstate interests.  I believe that if we are ever going to recover from this economic recession, that

New York State must reprioritize and begin removing some of the onerous taxes and regulations that are devastating Upstate New York.  Unfortunately, all of the State’s leaders, including the Governor, Comptroller, Attorney General, as well as the Legislative Leaders in the Senate and Assembly are from the New York City /Downstate area.

We must fight to restore balance and responsibility to New York State.  That is why I have authored and introduced legislation that would allow the people of New York to decide whether or not they would support the creation of a separate Upstate New York.
